Tue 29 Apr, 07:30 AM

Bristol Rovers have reached an agreement with Cheltenham to ground share at Whaddon Road for the next two seasons. The announcement comes after extensive talks with local rivals Yeovil, Swindon and Cheltenham about the possibility of groundsharing with them while Rovers' Memorial Stadium undergoes a two-year redevelopment.

But in a bid to provide supporters with the most convenient alternative, the Rovers board have come to an agreement with their Cheltenham counterparts to use the 7,136 capacity stadium - situated 40 miles away from the Memorial Stadium.

"The decision to share with Cheltenham was made with fans in mind, as it is the easiest option for travelling," Rovers' Chairman Ron Craig told the club's official website.

"We also had to take financial considerations into account, and the quality of the pitch was also a consideration."
