Scott rewarded with Bees contract

Tue 29 Apr, 05:15 PM

Manager Andy Scott insists he is "the man for the job" after signing a five-year deal with Brentford and he intends to forge "a stronger unit".Scott successfully steered the club to a safe midtable finish this season after replacing Terry Butcher in December and was handed the deal before Saturday's 3-0 defeat at home to Hereford.

He said: "I believe I am the man for the job and the board think that too.

"It has been a busy five months since I took over, and the reason I signed the contract is I believe the board has the same goals as me, my vision for the club and the way we play.

"They are confident I am the man for the job and I need to make sure they have made the right decision.

"I will work very hard during the summer, hopefully bringing in players that the fans will appreciate, improve our squad and make us a stronger unit."
