Grimsby Town manager Alan Buckley has told gossip mongers to "get a life" after denying rumours he is about to leave his post at the club.Buckley reacted with fury when told speculation was rife he was being forced to walk away from Blundell Park due to ill-health.

He said: "I'm absolutely speechless. People have got to get a life.

"I don't know where these ridiculous things come from. People want to get on with whatever they are doing at this time of the year.

"Perhaps someone saw me in Boots a couple of weeks ago and have put two and two together. I was buying some suntan lotion by the way!"

Chairman John Fenty added: "It's all nonsense and I can safely say Alan Buckley will still be the manager next season without question. Hopefully this will dispel any scurrilous rumours and put the issue to bed."
