Oldham managing director Simon Corney insists new recruit Chris O'Grady will increase the competition for places at Boundary Park next season. The Latics signed the 22-year-old from Rotherham for an undisclosed fee on a two-year deal.
His arrival follows the acquisition of of Kieran Lee and Greg Fleming from Manchester United and Gretna respectively.
O'Grady, Craig Davies, Lee Hughes, Lewis Alessandra, Deane Smalley and Matty Wolfenden will all battle for a striking berth next season.
