Tony Mowbray has backed striker Luke Moore to "rise to the challenge" at the Hawthorns after his move from Midlands rivals Aston Villa. The 22-year-old signed a three-year deal with the Baggies on Wednesday after a successful loan spell from the Villains last season.
And while Mowbray acknowledges that it was difficult for Moore to leave the club he has played for and supported all his life he believes the lure of first-team football was enough to convince the former England Under-21 international to join the Baggies.
Mowbray told the Express & Star: "It was a big decision but sometimes you know it is the right time. You can become stale at the same place with the same routine.
"You can feel at times as if you get taken for granted and you need a fresh challenge.
"That makes the move easier for him but he still has to impress his team mates first and foremost, as well as the supporters and management. I am sure he will rise to that challenge."
