Gretar Steinsson feels Bolton's successful battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League last season will stand him in good stead.Gary Megson's side finished the campaign with three wins and two draws to survive by a point, with Steinsson describing the experience as "very stressful".

The 26-year-old full-back, who joined in a £3.5m transfer from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar, told the Evening News: "It was tough at Bolton when I arrived, the fight to avoid relegation was serious.

"But we achieved what was needed and I felt I learned a lot about the game in the UK, which will only help me in the future."
