Crystal Palace midfielder Carl Fletcher is set to be ruled out for two months after suffering an ankle injury playing for Wales.

The 28-year-old, who was captaining the Welsh in a 1-0 friendly win over Iceland in Reykjavik, was forced off during the first half with ligament damage and will miss Sunday's trip to Holland.

"He was very unfortunate. We will have to fly him home and he will obviously miss the game on Sunday," said Wales boss John Toshack.

"He will be out of action for maybe two months, which is very unlucky for him because he deserved his chance as captain."
