Bury defender Ben Futcher has revealed he is close to signing a new contract with the League Two outfit.

Futcher, who joined the Shakers from Peterborough in 2007, admits he has agreed terms over a two-year deal although nothing is expected to be signed until next week.

He told Skysports.com: "I am glad to commit my future to the club and continue working under the manager [Alan Knill].

"Talks have reached a successful conclusion and I am due to sign a two-year deal early next week."
