Graham rejects Cumbrians deal

Fri 29 May, 04:15 PM

Carlisle striker Danny Graham has turned down the offer of a new two-year contract at Brunton Park.

The 23-year-old hinted via his agent on Thursday afternoon that he would be looking for a new club before rejecting the deal.

And manager Greg Abbott told the club's official website: "Danny has told us that he feels it is time for a new challenge and that he wants to ply his trade elsewhere.

"We made what we felt was an excellent offer to try to keep him at the club but the player has decided that it is time for him to move on. We have to accept that and move on ourselves.

"We wish Danny all the best as he has been fantastic for us and we will now continue the search to bring in the kind of player who will improve the squad and take us to where we want to be."

  1. Let Graham go he's rubbish anyway, he needs 7 chances to score 1 we need a good striker not him. He wont be missed lets be honest he left in january he just sulked around the place for the rest of the season coz he didn't get his big move. Lets go and get Hawley back him and bridges back together goals aplenty!!!!

  2. danny graham wants to leave, what chance have the cumbrians got when we cannot keep decent players .we will never challenge for top honours even attain the championship because players of the calliber we need do not want to come to cumbria.there is more to cumbria than football, its a great place to bring up a family the lakes the border country open spaces fresh air something you dont get in the cosmopolitan cities.so dont just look at cumbria as a outpost of football but as a great way of life .come on sign for the blues get a life.
