Lock James Horwill has agreed terms with the Australian Rugby Union until the end of the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
The 24-year-old, who cemented a starting spot in Robbie Deans' new-look side last season before a foot injury kept him out of the end-of-season tour, has also recommitted to the Reds for the next two Super Rugby campaigns.
ARU high performance boss David Nucifora said: "James made rapid strides as a Test player last season. His decision to remain in Australia now allows him the opportunity to continue with that development. It is great news for the game in this country."
