Keane sets hectic agenda

Fri 29 May, 12:07 PM

Ipswich manager Roy Keane expects to be a busy man this summer in his bid to build a squad to challenge for automatic promotion next season.

Keane, who released nine players shortly after arriving at Portman Road at the end of April, has watched games in Hungary and Scotland this month and will take in numerous international matches at senior and under-21s leve.

He told the Green `Un 24: "There is still a lot of football being played and I will be watching games and checking out potential targets all summer.

"We will be looking far and wide for players we feel can do well for Ipswich Town.

"I'm having regular meetings with club owner Marcus Evans to look to the future. We are discussing targets, pre-season, the training ground, many aspects of the club."
