Ricky Ravenhill has revealed he turned down a move to Oldham to join Notts County on a two-year deal.
The 28-year-old former Darlington midfielder was wanted by ex-Quakers boss Dave Penney at Boundary Park.
But Ravenhill was so impressed by the ambition of the League Two club that he plumped for the Magpies ahead of a reunion with Penney.
"I met the manager (Ian McParland), Dave Kevan and Tommy (Johnson) and they sold the club to me really well," Ravenhill told the Evening Post.
