Newcastle will travel to Cardiff for a pre-season friendly the weekend before the new Barclays Premier League season gets under way.
The Magpies, who finished fifth in the top flight at the end of the last campaign, will head for south Wales on Saturday, August 11.
It will be their second trip to the Cardiff City Stadium, where they won 1-0 in the npower Championship, courtesy of Fabricio Coloccini's goal, three seasons ago.
