Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood is reportedly preparing a renewed swoop on Championship rivals Coventry for striker Leon Best.Forest tried to sign Best during the January transfer window only to see three offers in the region of £1million rejected by the Sky Blues.
Best had been flattered by the interest from his home-town club before knuckling down to the task in hand at the Ricoh Arena.
He scored nine goals in 40 appearances for the Sky Blues last season after joining from Southampton, however he could again be the subject of another Forest bid.
Meanwhile, Forest manager Colin Calderwood is hoping to finalise another new signing at the City Ground in the coming days.
Calderwood has already agreed deals for Rob Earnshaw and Paul Anderson, but says another arrival at the club is imminent.
"We have been working all summer to bring in the right kind and quality of players to the club and we are now seeing the rewards for those efforts," Calderwood told the club's official website.
"Within the next week I am confident we will be able to announce at least one more signing. We are getting closer and closer to finalising deals."
