Permanent Orient post for Dearden

Sun 29 Jun, 05:30 PM

Former Tottenham and Brentford goalkeeper Kevin Dearden has been appointed as Leyton Orient's full-time goalkeeping coach and chief scout. He has been coaching on a part-time basis since November and will now combine those duties with scouting assignments.

Manager Martin Ling told the club's official website: "It's pleasing to get Kevin on board.

"He was coming in two days a week to work with our goalkeepers last season, along with doing scouting reports for us, and it's important that we've extended this to a full-time role.

"It's a massive help to the keepers to know that he will be around all the time and he will also be able to oversee our scouting network.

"It's the first time in five years as manager that we've been able to have these roles covered full-time and it's a step forward for us."
