Ligue 1 - Coupet joins PSG
Eurosport - Mon, 29 Jun 18:01:00 2009
Former France international goalkeeper Gregory Coupet has signed for Paris Saint-Germain on a two year deal from Atletico Madrid.
"Its signed and sealed, for two years," the 36-year-old former Lyon star confirmed on leaving PSG's headquarters.
Coupet, who spent 12 seasons at Lyon, win seven Ligue 1 titles and was capped 34 times, will replace Mickael Landreau, who is set to join PSG's rivals Lille.
Coupet, who retired from international football following France's first round exit at Euro 2008, failed to make the first-choice spot at Atletico and played just six times in La Liga and twice in the Champions League as was second fiddle to Argentine Leo Franco.
Coupet, who launched a tirade against France coach Raymond Domenech last September accusing him of being a 'dictator', will also be joined at PSG by Sochaux's Turkish forward Mevlut Erding.
