Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards has signed a new three-year contract at Molineux.

Wales international Edwards had just 12 months to run on his existing deal and had been in talks with the club since the end of the season.

However, upon the players' return for pre-season training today, the 23-year-old former Luton youngster committed himself to the Black Country outfit for another three years.

"I'm delighted to sign the new contract," Edwards said on the club's website.

"It's something that had been ongoing over the summer but with holidays and international duty it's just taken a bit of time to get sorted.

"It's great to get it done today on the first day of pre-season.

"To know I'm going to be here for another three years and that the manager wants me here is something I'm very proud of, particularly having come here from a lower league club."

Edwards added: "Signing a contract to go into the Premier League is something I have to pinch myself about if I look back over the last three or four years.

"I'm certainly not taking anything for granted though, and feel very privileged to be in the position I'm in."

  2. Looking depressingly like the last time isn't it? Pasting after pasting more or less guaranteed, just like last time.

  3. I have been saying this since we were promoted!!Moxey is vermin! It is not MM fault, Morgan bought the club for a tenner he should be sticking his hand in his pocket and buying some quality players. We had a sieve of a defence last season and if it was not for the forwards banging goals in it would be a different story. Moxey is renowned for these type of tactics and it winds me right up. We will not stand a chance in the premiership this season unless we spend money on at least 6 players! Wolves till I die Moxey vermin OUT

  6. when are we gonna buy some players? this dont look good, why are we tying championship players to stupidly long 3-4 year contracts, craddock, henry, and edwards will not cut it in the prem, less space for new signings now weve tyed loads of players down.

i'm dissapointed as a fan that we havent signed any quality yet, the season will start before we know it and we wont be ready. Moxey is definately going to be out by the end of the season now, hes holding the club back! morgan needs to stand up or f*** off to liverpool.
