John Tortorella of the New York Rangers and Scott Gordon of the New York Islanders have been named assistant coaches of the US men's ice hockey team for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
The pair will work alongside Toronto Maple Leafs' Ron Wilson, who was named head coach of the US squad in April.
Tortorella, head coach of the US men's team at the 2008 world championships, guided the Tampa Bay Lightning to their first Stanley Cup in 2004 and claimed the Jack Adams trophy as NHL coach of the year.
Gordon, a member of the 1992 US men's Olympic team, worked as an assistant under Wilson at this year's world championships in Switzerland.
