  4. Owen must get back to playing with Heskey. Also at Villa their midfield will create more chances then other teams and that will help Owen get back his form.Heskey is the key and also if Owen can just stay injury free for 6 months then he will find his goals again. He is still world class even if he has lost a bit of pace that is because of all the injuries. But playing with heskey is the key again.Goodluck Micheal and I really hope you play in the World Cup and go to Villa.

  8. True supporters of Newcastle United - please never forget this: News of the World Exposé

In March 1998, Shepherd and Douglas Hall were the target of a News of the World exposé, led by the “Fake Sheikh” Mazher Mahmood. The pair, believing Mahmood to be a wealthy Arab prince trying to set up a business deal, were caught mocking the club's own supporters for spending extortionate amounts of money on merchandise, calling female supporters “dogs”, and mocking star striker Alan Shearer by calling him the "Mary Poppins of football", all while frequenting a brothel.

Amidst heavy media coverage, the Newcastle Independent Supporters Association and the then Minister for Sport, Tony Banks, called for the resignation of the pair[3]. Although reports from sources close to Shepherd initially indicated he was contractually unable to resign, he and Hall had both left their posts within two weeks of the scandal breaking.

His general approach to running the club, as well as the ongoing fallout from the News of the World story, earned Shepherd a number of unflattering nicknames such as "Fatty Shepherd"[1],the "Fat Controller"[2] and "Baron Greenback"[3].

Only ten months after resigning, Shepherd and Hall, the majority shareholders at Newcastle, voted themselves back on to the board. This led to the immediate resignation of the PLC chairman David Cassidy, who had taken the position just six months earlier. Shepherd then went on to take over as PLC chairman.

  9. Michael Owen has been diagnosed with gender identity disorder and will soon be having a sex change. He is, however, looking at things from a positive stance and having trials with the England women's national team, so desperate is he to wear the Three Lions skirt again. 12. Please. Please. Please. Not Shepherd. Not again.

Shepherd did one good thing while he was in charge of Newcastle United. He managed, somehow, to get Bobby Robson to manage our club. Everything else he did was a disaster, starting with foisting an out of shape, and past it, Patrick Kuivert onto Sir Bobby. Kluivert was a failure.

Shepherd then, after probably keeping Sir Bobby at the club as it’s manager one season too long, under invested in the first team, and watched the club fall out of the Champions League. The only recruitment that summer was the bad boy ( number 1 ) Lee Bowyer. Didn’t he set the Toon alight?

He sacked Sir Bobby. He hired Souness and gave him a three year contract. ( little blackburn were going to sack Souness - but FFS gave him a three year deal ) He sanctioned the recruitment of Boumsong, Luque, Babayara ( disgrace ) and Owen, to name but a few. They were all massive flops and cost the club tens of millions in transfers and wages. These signings put the club back years. These were all signings made under the directorship of Shepherd. Whenever there was a critical decision to be made, Shepherd would get it wrong. Always! He then had to sack Souness, again costing the club millions.

Then, perhaps not one his worst appointments, he went out and got Sam Allerdice, only to allow Big Sam to give his best pal ,Alex Ferguson , 5 or 6 million for the Man U flop Alan Smith. He sanction a five year deal for this less than average player, and wages of 50 plus grand a week. What a chump! To make matters worse, Shepherd than sanctioned a similar deal for bad boy ( number 2 ) Joey ( I kick kids in ) Barton. Where the hell was his thinking? Newcastle were laid bare to the Ashley take over because of the actions of Shepherd. The man is a disgrace and doesn’t have the class to run our club the way it should be. Oh yes, he gave his managers money, but look at the facts - we paid far too much for players who simply weren’t up to the task, and it was
