Sunday's rest day gives us the chance to take another look at who's looking good for the men's and women's crowns at the All England Club next weekend.
Few would have expected Lleyton Hewitt, Ivo Karlovic and Tomas Berdych to be featuring highly on the men's side, likewise with Sabine Lisicki among the ladies.
But a series of upsets has opened up some parts of the draw, and several of the underdogs have a good shot at a run to the semis.
However, the presence of Roger Federer and Andy Murray, and the Williams sisters, still looms very large.
MEN
1. (1) Roger Federer - in control and on course to reclaim his crown
2. (2) Andy Murray - another straight sets win for the home hero
3. (3) Andy Roddick - came through a tough fight
4. (4) Novak Djokovic - has looked solid but bigger tests await
5. (NR) Lleyton Hewitt - former champ is fighting like his life depends on it
6. (NR) Ivo Karlovic - no one wants to face the huge serving Croat
7. (NR) Tomas Berdych - finally looks ready to fulfill his Slam potential
8. (7) Tommy Haas - survived a two-day epic to reach round four
WOMEN
1. (1) Venus Williams - can she make it three in a row?
2. (2) Serena Williams - has been totally in control so far
3. (7) Victoria Azarenka - desperate for her first Major
4. (6) Caroline Wozniacki - thoroughly comfortable on the London lawns
5. (5) Dinara Safina - far from convincing and struggling with serve
6. (NR) Amelie Mauresmo - former champ is rediscovering her old form
7. (NR) Sabine Lisicki - new star has the game to go deep
8. (NR) Elena Dementieva - making solid progress and gaining confidence
(pre-tournament ranking in brackets)

indeed cameron w it shall be, so long as you don't feel offended.......lol. very good analysis that about dinara / amelie, save for one thing....................if dinara's head isn't right on the day, then all that form goes out of the window and IMHO Amelie is not just an ordinay player where dinara can self destruct and still come out on top. I also think amelie's game will not suit dinara, such deft touches and awesome one handed backhand which gives her a chance of retrieval against dinara's power game.
btw coment #121, very funny, hope our nigerian contributors can see the funny side, after all it used to be a great honour to be a ball boy when i was at school.

Philips Odowu the triple jumper is originally Nigerian......Adebayor who plays for Arsenal...his parents are Nigerian...he just happens to have been born in Togo...there are other Nigerian football players......

I have wached all of Dinara's matches and i am soooo confident; Mauresmo is not the same player of old, too many injuries have taken their toll and the body just can't take the strain now. Safina's first game was her toughest because her opponent took the pace off the ball, Mauresmo won't do that and that is why Dinara will beat her - may take 3 sets though. But hey, i am just a pundit what do i know; probably more than Simon Reed perhaps!!!!
Oh and please, can we lose the 'Mr', plain Cameron will do (although i am used to many other terms, usually beginning with 'w' - use your imagination!); many thanks!
dont think they play tennis, they prefer piracy, kidnapping western contractors and email scamming
sue barker is still the top ranked english female, think she won a match in the mid seventies
not sure why a Nigerian is slagging off anyone on this thread, since when did they have a good tennis player? ...actually, is there a good nigerian sportsman/woman in the world?
ha!ha!Fannie people he is English wen he play wel wen he play @#$% he is scots!!hw bad!!
rdarby5. What does a haggis look like?
Slightly surprised that nobody is even mentioning Gilles Simon or JC Ferrero. Food for thought that Simon, the most similar player to Murray on the tour IMO, also has a positive H2H with Fed and seems to be going nicely on the grass courts of Wimbledon. David Ferrer speaking about Ferrero, said something like, "Juan Carlos is playing really well. Now that he's recovered from his injuries, he'll soon be back in the top 15". Whoever wins this last-16 match will be happy enough to take their chances with Murray or Wawrinka but will be looking for someone to take out Roddick, I suspect. Take it easy
The man's a Federer fan who thinks Murray isn't worth all the hype...so what? What's new?
Everyone's been taking a shot at Andy the last couple of days.If you went after all of them you'd be up all night dear. Let the Nigerian be.
That's the last I'll say about that.
what the f****..... first do... then talk.... stop analizing and assuming.. it's really stupid!
i hope when murray stuffs the swiss cheese he digs up the court and tears the net down, wembley 77 here we go
