Sunday's rest day gives us the chance to take another look at who's looking good for the men's and women's crowns at the All England Club next weekend.
Few would have expected Lleyton Hewitt, Ivo Karlovic and Tomas Berdych to be featuring highly on the men's side, likewise with Sabine Lisicki among the ladies.
But a series of upsets has opened up some parts of the draw, and several of the underdogs have a good shot at a run to the semis.
However, the presence of Roger Federer and Andy Murray, and the Williams sisters, still looms very large.
MEN
1. (1) Roger Federer - in control and on course to reclaim his crown
2. (2) Andy Murray - another straight sets win for the home hero
3. (3) Andy Roddick - came through a tough fight
4. (4) Novak Djokovic - has looked solid but bigger tests await
5. (NR) Lleyton Hewitt - former champ is fighting like his life depends on it
6. (NR) Ivo Karlovic - no one wants to face the huge serving Croat
7. (NR) Tomas Berdych - finally looks ready to fulfill his Slam potential
8. (7) Tommy Haas - survived a two-day epic to reach round four
WOMEN
1. (1) Venus Williams - can she make it three in a row?
2. (2) Serena Williams - has been totally in control so far
3. (7) Victoria Azarenka - desperate for her first Major
4. (6) Caroline Wozniacki - thoroughly comfortable on the London lawns
5. (5) Dinara Safina - far from convincing and struggling with serve
6. (NR) Amelie Mauresmo - former champ is rediscovering her old form
7. (NR) Sabine Lisicki - new star has the game to go deep
8. (NR) Elena Dementieva - making solid progress and gaining confidence
(pre-tournament ranking in brackets)

murray is the real deal and getting better
with that name gaypeterkin, i am sure you are embarassing tunde with your comments, maybe not, lol
Mr Cameron I can't believe you picked on the one iffy match to predict a definite winner. either one of those girls, dinara and amelie can play first class tennis just as well as either one of then can just chuck it on the day. You are one brave pundit! hope you are not a gambling man??
come on djokovic!!!! i want it to be federer vs djokovic in the finals. all this murray this and murray that is stupid, why is he so overated?
WEE ANDAY'S GARLFRAND AS FIT AS FACK.
Tunde, love, in Nigeria, I think you're being a bit @#$% dear Andy Murray! He's not responsible for the antics of the media and if they decide to concentrate all their attention on him and praise him up, then he can't help that, can he, the poor love? I expect that if there were a wonderful playing, high-ranking Nigerian doing well in SW19, then your media would be reporting on him or her, to the exclusion of the rest of the field, wouldn't they, love? All Andy can do is squeeze those firm young legs of his into his shorts, pick up his racquet and go out and hit the ball. And he is an extraordinary player! I suspect, and I'm guessing here, that he's a better player than you (I'm sorry if I'm wrong) and he's certainly far ahead of me. In fact, all those clever tennis people think he's the third best player in the world! So he must be fab, darling. So let's all praise him! Can I just ask you, where do you stand on a gay Wimbledon tournament, love?
when nigeria have a world class tennis player i might listen to such utter nonsense, only thing they are good for is email scamming
Juan Carlos Ferrero will make the final!
Just imagine Roddick-Karlovic final......we shall count only aces..................
the way the british hype murray is too much,he is not an extraordinary player for christ sake, just see how wawrinka or roddick will destroy him,he does not have what it takes to be a grand slam champion,he should however not think because he won federer in some ATP and dubai exhibition ,if he lucky to meet fed this time he will teach him tennis,
all the very best fed,pls win this won for us your fans
tunde faoki from nigeria
Stine147, you are absolutely right, but if you are implying that the draw is fixed (and in a way it does look fixed) I wonder how they would do it. In general, though, I'll agree that Murray has been very lucky with his opponents in most tournaments. I'd say that so far, all in all, Nadal has been having the hardest draws.
Andy Murray can only play who is in front of him and as for the draw being fixed if it was gonna be fixed for anyone in the past it would have been the very english gentleman Henman not Murray who for some reason annoys people because he doesnt take defeat well and is not over enthusiastic its about time we had someone who isn't afraid to say how he feels and who doesn't accept defeat like the British mentality has been in the past:(
C'MON ANDY WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE PLAYING FOR AND SCOTLAND IS PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!
Utter garbage; i don't even think this guy has been watching any of Dinara Safina's games!!
She is improving with every game and has made her furthest progress to date at this tournament AND she will beat Mauresmo!
i expect fed ta be in the final and yea i do believe hed win the 15 th grand slam
regarding the ladies i hope last years epic would be placed once more with my fav!!
williams sister
slagging the guy for his looks is pathetic, i bet jane is a little frumpy, dowdy minger
Andy Murray Ranked 3rd in the World
Novak Djokovic Ranked 4th in the world
Enough said.
In typical English fashion they like to raise expectation very high. Haven't you guys eve hear of the say "the highier the flight the bigger the fall " ? Murray looks like a very solid player but he needs to take risks when playing at the very highest level. Having said that you don't get to be number 3 in the world by fluke. But Fedex on his game is of another planet ! And it's not me saying it, it's the facts, the numbers. Grand Slams results read like this: Fedex 14, Nadal 5, Murray 0. Fedex is clearly out of reach but Nadal can be caught. Good luck Murray, let's see what you r made of.
Berdych-Roddick will be very interesting, Tomas is very capable of making upset to everybody (Federer included), if only he is 100% mentally present. Murray will beat Wawrinka, perhaps not so easy, but he will do it. Djokovic, maybe has the easiest opponent on paper. I am just waiting for Federer-Soderling match, not because I expect any surprise, but just to see if Robin, instead of eulogy towards his opponent, will give us something to root for....11:0 would be too much
