Bishop stays cool

Bury striker Andy Bishop is refusing to set any goal targets for the coming campaign.

Bishop has been a regular goalscorer for the Shakers in recent seasons, but now faces increased competition following the arrival of Ryan Lowe and Danny Carlton.

Bishop, edging closer to full fitness after a knee injury, told the club's official website: "I've not set a target this year, but I just want to be fit and we will see where that takes me.

"I scored 18 goals last season, but Ryan Lowe did as well so it will be a tough competition."

Lowe and Carlton have joined the Shakers from Chester and Carlisle respectively and will compete for places with Bishop and Andy Morrell.
