Middlesbrough will launch the new Championship season against Sheffield United in front of the television cameras on Friday, August 7.
Boro's opening-day clash at the Riverside has been brought forward 24 hours and will be screened live on Sky Sports.
It will be Gareth Southgate's side's first game back in the second tier following their relegation from the Premier League.

The attendance will be decent but the football may not be. The blades are shi*e and we aren't much better
Although sheffield united do usually take a healthy following, it will be really interesting to see the attendance for this one - are the fans gonna stick with southgate?
Ha Ha nice one Col. I reckon Corry will be a damn site more exciting!! I'm not sayin we're fantastic to watch but GOD Boro are borin!!
