Deadly Bellamy sinks battling Posh

Tue 29 Jul, 10:30 PM

Craig Bellamy netted a brace as West Ham defeated Peterborough 2-0 in their pre-season friendly at London Road on Tuesday night. The Wales international struck early on in the fixture before putting the result out of Posh's reach with his second just before the break.

New signing from Lazio Valon Behrami made his Hammers bow and looked lively before he was replaced on 66 minutes.

Bellamy's opener came in the third minute when he latched on to Scott Parker's pass before rounding shot-stopper Joe Lewis to tap home.

On 42 minutes, Bellamy, who endured an injury-plagued campaign last term, doubled West Ham's lead via an expertly taken lob over Lewis.

Peterborough came closest late in the second half when George Boyd's effort beat goalkeeper Robert Green but came back off the post.

  2. Hear Hear all ex- Craig Bellamy's clubs who have decided to ditch him because of his bad boy reputation(which is true by the way)but seriously guys is he different class or what? The guy's a genius his work ethic is second to none, & he is scoring for fun for the Hammers & his performance last night was awesome & defenders cannot cope with this guy it is way he streches the defence all over the place & his pace is electrifying make no mistake about that. Hear Hear the Premiership defenders all of the clubs in the Premiership at the moment I warn you now Craig Bellamy is very much back in business & flying all cylinders, a big season ahead for Craig Bellamy hope he scores plenty of goals for the Hammers & get us into Europe where we belong. Come on you Irons.
