Crewe coach Steve Holland admits Gary Roberts' time at the club could be coming to an end after he failed to attend the friendly with Hull.Roberts' future has been the subject of much speculation this summer and although he gave the club assurances he was committed to the club last week, he has now gone AWOL.

Holland said: "I spoke to Gary on Thursday and he stressed he wanted to give it another go.

"He didn't attend the first-team match on Saturday, the only squad member not to do so, and he hasn't been into training since.

"We have given him chance after chance and it is something we have to deal with because the players are getting fed up with him now."
