McParland expects tough encounter

Tue 29 Jul, 02:30 PM

Notts County manager Ian McParland believes Tuesday's pre-season friendly against Stoke will be a 'different ball game' for his players.Having played Olympia Ljubljana, Wacker Burghausen and Hucknall Town so far during pre-season, McParland's side has seen a lot of the ball and been able to create numerous goal scoring chances.

However, the County boss expects his side to have less possession against the Premier League newcomers and he is keen to see how they react.

"We expect to see less of the ball so it is a test to see if the lads have taken on board what we want them to do when we don't have possession," McParland told the club's official website.

"I expect us to have to work really hard for the ball and do a lot of chasing. It will be a different ball game to what we have experienced previously.

"It is all part of pre-season and it will be a good test for us. When we do get the ball back we will have to work equally hard to keep it."
