Udinese have dismissed reports linking Switzerland international Gokhan Inler with a move to Arsenal this summer.

Inler has been a revelation since moving to Italy from FC Zurich last summer and his performances at Euro 2008 have seen him linked with several top European clubs, including Premier League sides Arsenal and Newcastle.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who missed just one game last season for the Friuli outfit, is under contract with Udinese until June 2012.

When asked about the Gunners' interest on Inler, Udinese general director Pietro Leonardi was quick to rule out a move.

He said: "This is an absurd story. Nothing is true and the player has even denied this."
