Mark Hughes` own goal after seven minutes opened the scoring, with the defender converting a cross from former Saddlers youth-team player Kyle Perry.

Luke Jones got a touch on an inswinging free-kick from the right to beat Rene Gilmartin for the Stags` second of the night shortly afterwards, while Louis Briscoe added a third before the break.

The Saddlers took just 38 second-half seconds to register a solitary reply as recent signing Peter Till curled an effort past Alan Marriott from inside the area.
