Caisse d'Epargne's Jose Ivan Gutierrez held off the challenge of Britain's David Millar to win the Eneco Tour of the Benelux after taking second place in the final stage, a 29-kilometre time-trial from Sittard to Geleen.
Guttierez, the Spanish time-trial champion, finished two seconds behind stage winner Sebastien Rosseler, though crucially was nine seconds ahead of Millar, who had to settle for second overall.
Home favourite Thomas Dekker, who carried a four-second lead into the stage, found himself out of contention by the half-way mark, perhaps still feeling the effects of a crash he suffered on Tuesday.
Sweden's Gustav Erik Larsson managed to haul himself ahead of Dekker and into third spot on the general classification after posting the third quickest time of the day, while Belgian time-trial champion Leif Hoste finished fourth, and Dekker fifth.
Britain's Mark Cavendish won the sprinter's points classification in the event, helped by his win in stage two and second-place finish in stage five.
