Former France coach Henri Michel is returning for another spell in charge of Egyptian club Zamalek in place of Michel Decastel.

"Michel is the new Zamalek coach. He will be assisted by Abdul-Halim Ali," spokesman Sabri Serag said.

Ali, who retired at the end of last season, is the team's all-time top scorer.

Michel, 61, led France to third place at the 1986 World Cup and has managed several national teams in Africa.

He was on the verge of winning the Egyptian Cup in his first stint at Zamalek but his side suffered a dramatic 4-3 defeat against arch-rivals Ahli in the final in 2007.
