Injury Worry For Terry

Sat 29 Sep, 05:09 PM

John Terry has given England an injury worry after suffering a suspected fractured cheekbone in Chelsea's game with Fulham.

The Blues and England captain was hurt in the opening minutes of the Premier League match at Stamford Bridge after being caught by Clint Dempsey.

Terry was able to finish the first half, but failed to reappear for the second period.

Early indications suggest that the centre-half has suffered a fractured cheekbone and is awaiting confirmation of the injury.

If the problem is confirmed, Terry will be a major doubt for England's Euro 2008 qualifiers with Estonia and Russia next month.

England play Estonia at Wembley in a fortnight's time before travelling to Moscow to face Russia four days later.

Terry would also miss Chelsea's UEFA Champions League group encounter with Valencia next Wednesday.
