Derby midfielder Stephen Pearson faces at least a month on the sidelines after suffering a slight groin muscle tear.
The Scotland international had featured in all nine of the league and cup games this season before sitting out Saturday`s home Championship victory over Bristol City.
Pearson injured his groin in training at the end of last week and scans have revealed the 26-year-old has a tear.
Boss Nigel Clough said: "It looks like Stephen will be out for four weeks."

I agree we do have a @#$% team. Why done we all go and support Forest where we will have a better chance of reaching the Premiership.
first off ..dont get me wrong ..love cloughie , think he is def. man for the job ..BUT another injury setback, nigel is looking at the treatment room and saying , never seen anything like this at this point in the season ..fact is ..this is Championship Football ..its bloody tough, hard and nonestop action, casualties are the norm .. so what is all the talk of trimming the squad? all these bodies moved out and not too many in has just left us with a soft underbelly ..and what about if miracles of miracles we get anywhere near the Premiership ..do we realy think a Squad of 24 to 26 players is going to keep you up plus fight it out in cup competitions.
We need to go into the Jan transfer window with a plan. To recruit players that are not just decent tryers from the conference, or fat boy wing men who never realy made it at half a dozen other clubs ..you get what you pay for in footbal, and right now we are showing limited to Zero ambition.
