Newcastle have been hit by a double injury blow ahead of tomorrow night's home clash with QPR.
Central defender Fabricio Coloccini (groin) and midfielder Ryan Taylor (calf) have both been ruled out, meaning caretaker boss Chris Hughton will have to make changes.
In addition, midfielder Joey Barton could be sidelined for several weeks with the ankle problem which has kept him out of the last two games.
However, full-back Danny Simpson could return from his ankle injury and Jonas Gutierrez is available after six matches out with a hamstring strain, while Danny Guthrie has completed his suspension.
Geremi has recovered from the illness which prevented his participation at the weekend, but Shola Ameobi (foot) is expected to sit out for two more months.

Stop moaning you skunks and get behind Hughton for the rest of this season. The last thing you need is Mary Poppins !! YOU SHOULD WIN THIS LEAGUE BY A DISTANCE. Forget about the fat cockney and concentrate on the team. This comes from a true red and white. Skunks 3 - 0 Wednesday night

Here we go then; the injuries, as forecast by all and sundry and totally ignored (YET AGAIN) by ashley, have begun! Hopefully Simpson will make it, otherwise i cannot find a back four - no way can we expose the snail that is Geremi at right back!! This really is a shambolic state of affairs; we are top of the league 'in spite of' ashley, NOT thanks to him!
ps
couldn't care less about Barton, not after 'that' performance against Plymouth!
