Referee Mauro Bergonzi has been dropped from next week's Serie A matches for awarding two incorrect penalties against Juventus on Saturday night.
Bergonzi has also been taken off the weekend's Serie B listings, faces a longer overall ban and could face an extended demotion to Serie B.
Juve lost 3-1 at Napoli after taking the lead, with two of the home side's goals coming from Maurizio Domizzi spot-kicks that should never have been awarded.
Alessandro Del Piero had put the Bianconeri ahead straight after the second half restart but - following Walter Gargano's equaliser - Bergonzi first pointed to the spot after a perfect tackle on Ezequiel Lavezzi by Giorgio Chiellini, who did not even go to ground when winning the ball. Then he awarded a second penalty when Marcelo Zalayeta threw himself over Gianluigi Buffon despite no contact between the two.
Zalayeta has been handed a two-match ban for his dive and Bergonzi is expected to be censured further by Italian refereeing legend Pierluigi Collini, who now runs the match officials' administration.
Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri said he hoped his club were not being victimised because of their role in the infamous Serie A match-fixing scandal.
"We have already paid for the past by losing two championships and a relegation," he said. "We want to be treated like everyone else."
