Championship - Jordan yet to receive Gold offer

PA Sport - Thu, 29 Oct 11:45:00 2009

Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan could be ready to sell the club to his old adversary David Gold.

The pair fell out after manager Steve Bruce quit the Eagles to take over at Birmingham in 2001 but with Gold looking to invest in a London club after selling his stake at St Andrew's, Jordan is ready to bury the hatchet.

"All that stuff was tongue in cheek and is in the past now," Jordan told The Sun.

"The fact is David Gold is a very successful businessman. He has done very well at Birmingham and made a lot of money, so fair play to him.

"At the moment it's hypothetical. There's been no enquiry and no offer, despite the stories in the media, which have all come from his camp.

"My job is to ensure Crystal Palace continue to have a football club, which is very costly and difficult when we're getting 12,000 through the gate."

  1. People have very short memories mr Jordan stepped in when the club was in dire situation. Ok maybe some of the things he has done have not been great and he is a bit of a wide boy. When he would not pay the agents fee when we were about to sign Cahill that was a mistake. But on the whole he has been quite good. Mr Goldburg alomost ended Crystal palace as a club but Mr Jordon saved the day. So good luck to the man in what ever he does

  2. the only way up now is to sell and the sooner the better and we can then see the realpalace again jordan do us all a favor and give mr gold the keys so as he can get on with it and take us where you never did a new ground

  3. From an Orange skinned wide boy to a porn empire mogul with Colin W***ker still in charge? Says it all really. No one is gonna buy Palace while we still have no ground to claimwe own oursleves. Jordan oans about only 12,000 coming thru the gates, perhaps if the club invested in better players and we were challenging for promotion instead of languishing in mid-table then more would come thru the turnstiles. More might come if the ground was modrnised, but no Mr orange has given up!
