Egypt have recalled their African Nations Cup-winning strike partnership of Mohamed Zidan and Emad Moteab for their must-win World Cup qualifier against Algeria in Cairo on November 14.
Coach Hassan Shehata had left Borussia Dortmund's Zidan out of the squad for the last two qualifiers for disciplinary reasons. Moteab is back after a six-month spell out with injury in a 25-man squad released by the Egypt Football Association.
Moteab and Zidan, together with former Wigan Athletic forward Amr Zaki, served as a potent strike force in early 2008 when Egypt won the Nations Cup in Ghana.
But the continental champions will miss out on next year's World Cup unless they beat Algeria by three goals in their last Group Three qualifier.
Squad:
Goalkeepers: Essam Al Hadari (Ismaili), Abdelwahed El Sayed (Zamalek), Mahmoud Aboussaoud (Mansoura)
Defenders: Sherif Abdelfadil (Al Ahli), Ahmed Al Muhammadi (ENPPI), Abdelzaher El Saqqa (Eskisehirspor, Turkey), Wael Gomaa (Al Ahli), Ahmed Said Ouka (Harass Al Hodoud), Hani Said (Zamalek), Moatasem Salem (Ismaili)
Midfielders: Hosni Abd Rabou (Al Ahli Dubai, United Arab Emirates), Mohamed Aboutrika, Mohamed Barakat (both Al Ahli), Ahmed Eid Abdelmalek (Harass Al Hodoud), Ahmed Fathi, Ahmed Hassan (Al Ahli), Mohamed Hommos (Ismaili), Sayed Moawad (Al Ahli), Mohamed Shaaban (Zamalek), Mohamed Shawky (Middlesbrough, England), Abdelaziz Toufik (ENPPI)
Strikers: Emad Moteab (Al Ahli), Ahmed Raouf (ENPPI), Amr Zaki (Zamalek), Mohamed Zidan (Borussia Dortmund, Germany)
