An American woman who was charged with offering sex for baseball World Series tickets has denied she did anything wrong.

Susan Finkelstein, from Philadelphia, was busted by an undercover cop after posting an advert on Craigslist in the hope she would find a ticket for the opening game of the title-deciding series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees.

In the ad, the Phillies fan said: "I'm the creative type! Maybe we can help each other!"

She also described herself as a "gorgeous, tall, buxom blonde diehard Phillies fan".

But, having been arrested after discussing the advert with an undercover policemen - a "good-looking, blonde, kind of Marine guy" - in a Philadelphia bar on Tuesday, she defended her actions.

She told AP: "I'm not embarrassed about my actions. I'm embarrassed about how I was arrested."

She added on the "Opie and Anthony" radio show: "I was hoping maybe I could get a cheaper price flirting with him.

"You know, batting my eyes. It's not unheard of.

"It was him who brought the whole thing up anyway.

"It was just unbelievable that when we started talking about sexy stuff, I got arrested."

Finkelstein, who is married, said she wanted to take her husband to Wednesday night's opening game of the showcase series, which the Phillies won 6-1.

The 43-year-old now faces a charge of soliciting prostitution and will have a preliminary hearing on December 3.

But there was a silver lining to her experience - she was given tickets for Sunday's game compliments of a local radio station and car dealership.

  3. Lol, the woman must be very caring to reward her husband with the proceeds. But then, how often does she obtain favours through that way? Her husband must be living on other men's generousity all these years without knowing. On a second thought, dont the Police in Philadelphia hav better job to do?

  5. Amanda why prejudge without being in possession of the full facts? A lot more was said and done by this woman which led to her arrest. You can easily read between the lines if you can't be bothered to wait for the evidence or search elsewhere on the internet for better information,

  6. The police man who arrested her is just playing a good cop.am sure he needed what she has to offer, just too proud to admit it. What happens to trade by batter ...using what u have to get what you want. a pound of @#$% for a ticket, sounds like good deal to me.

  18. Isnt this like entrapment? I know for a fact over here in Ireland there are laws against undercover cops talkin into or 'convincing' people to buy say drugs off them. The girl never intended to have sex with him by the sounds of things she only intended on adding a lil flirting to get the price down nothing more! That cop sounds like a right douchebag!
Its right what other people are saying I think theres better things to be wasting precious police time with instead of some woman flirting to get a cheap football ticket!
