Burton have confirmed their interest in out-of-favour Crewe striker Anthony Elding.

The 27-year-old has been transfer-listed by Alex, whose caretaker manager Dario Gradi revealed this week that he had been contacted by Albion regarding the player`s availability.

Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido confirmed: "I put a call in to Dario Gradi and left a message asking him to call me.

"I did call to see what the player's situation is and have since spoken to (Crewe assistant manager) Neil Baker.

"So, yes, we have asked about him and I may go and take a look at him when he next plays, which I am told will be in around two week`s time."
