Davies won't stop players leaving

Thu, 29 Oct 16:40:20 2009

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies will not stand in the way of one of his players if a top Premier League club comes calling in January.

However, the Scot insists he is not encouraging interest in his stars and is trying to assemble a group of players that will hopefully soon play in the top flight with the Reds.

"If there are enquiries from big clubs then that`s a good sign for me. The one thing we won`t stop is top Premier League clubs coming in and taking the players," said Davies.

"If one of the top four or top six wanted to take some of our players then it shows we are obviously doing something right here and getting some success on the pitch.

"Obviously, it something we don`t encourage greatly because we are trying to develop our team for the future but sometimes that`s the way it is. And ultimately playing at the top level is what it`s all about."
