Duo back to boost Baggies

West Brom head coach Roberto Di Matteo has received a huge boost with the news Roman Bednar and Chris Brunt should be fit to face Watford this weekend.

Three-goal striker Bednar has missed the last two games due to a back problem while influential midfielder Brunt has been sidelined with a calf injury picked up in the goalless draw against Preston at the start of the month.

Their return will provide a huge boost to a struggling Albion side who are in desperate need of goalscoring inspiration to end a sorry slump in form which has seen them pick up just one win in their last six games.

Di Matteo told the club's official website: "Roman has spent last week, Monday and Tuesday doing rehab work with the physio. Hopefully if everything goes to plan then he will be able to join the squad in training on Thursday.

"Roman is a big player for us and so is Brunty - as are the likes of James Morrison and Ishmael Miller (who remain sidelined for the long-term).

"Brunty had his first training session with us on Tuesday so let's hope he can get through the week. We will then see how he is on Saturday."

  1. he has to play him.....look why not put him in for half­ a dozen games,then lets see how he does,surley he has­ nothing to lose by doing that,i mean what does RDM see­ that 21,000 pairs of eyes cant SEE in Moore,Cox is­ chomping at he bit to play,Moore just does not want to­ know,... show some balls Roberto,give the kid a­ chance,we all know he was the chairmans buy,but 30 odd­ goals dont lie and well you aint got a lot of­ choice.... have you ?

  3. I personally think that RDM is naive in his tactics and­ we need a 20 goal striker real bad,otherwise i cant see­ us getting back to the premiership this season.Put some­ money in the coffers Peace you tightwad or sell up.
