Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still has confirmed he hopes to sign a left-back before Saturday`s clash with Port Vale.

Still lost Scott Griffiths to Championship side Peterborough last week and will be without Abu Ogogo against Vale after he was sent-off against Macclesfield.

Still told Press Association Sport: "We are looking to bring someone in at the moment and before Saturday there is a possibility that we may have a new left-back.

"I didn`t want to sell Scott but it`s what we do. We had an offer for the player and he wanted to leave so away we went.

"It`s how we survive at this level and players know that if they come here they can earn a move if they prove themselves.

"We have done that ever since I have been here and that will no doubt continue."
