Reading have confirmed physio Jon Fearn will leave the club in the new year to join Premier League giants Chelsea.

Fearn will depart the Madejski Stadium after eight years at the end of January to become Chelsea`s first team physio.

Director of football Nick Hammond said: "Jon has brought an outstanding level of expertise and professionalism to the medical department and we thank him for his tremendous input and hard work over the past eight years.

"He has been an integral part of the management team that has contributed to the club`s recent successes.

"We will miss Jon but we wish him every success in the future."
