West Ham have confirmed that the testimonial for academy director Tony Carr will be on May 5 at the Boleyn Ground, when a club first team will play a team of past-academy products.
Carr, 59, has been in charge of the Hammers' youth production line since 1973, having joined the club as an apprentice in 1966. He has worked for every manager from Ron Greenwood to Gianfranco Zola.
The academy XI is expected to include the likes of Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Michael Carrick, Rio Ferdinand and John Terry, who are amongst the dozens of youngsters to have come through Carr's academy system.
Carr said: "I am really looking forward to it, and hopefully we will have a big turnout, it should be a great occasion."

If the greedy west ham board never sold all those players for a fast buck, what a team we would have now instead of the lazy, second rate bunch, that just turn up for there wages. It will be west ham players holding the world cup next year, ALL EX WEST HAM PLAYERS. Come on yoooo ironnnssss.
Without West Ham England would never have held the World Cup :-)
C'mon you Hammers see you all at the game :-)
Ah this is cool!! Just shows we have the best academy in the world!!
