Alan O'Brien is determined to prove his worth to Swindon fans when he finally makes his long-awaited return from injury.
The midfielder arrived in Wiltshire back in the summer but managed just a handful of appearances before being struck down by a hamstring injury. But he is now back in reserve-team action and building up his match fitness as he looks to show the club's supporters why Danny Wilson brought him to the County Ground.
He told Press Association Sport: "I don't think the fans have seen me at all. It feels that way anyway I've been out for that long.
"That's a massive part of it and that's why I'm trying to get back as quick as I can but I need to be clever about it, if it goes again then I'll be out for around three months. Once I get back I know I've got a lot to prove, I'm looking forward to it."
O'Brien is also hoping to provide the creative quality from midfield that Wilson is currently looking for, adding: "It's up to me when I do come back to show him that I am the answer to the problem obviously.
"Certain things aren't coming off at the minute for the lads that are playing but that can all turn around in the next game and the service might be brilliant. From my personal point of view, it's a good time to be coming back and trying to show that I can provide that service."
