The Football League are the latest body to officially commend Sheffield Wednesday for donating their shirt sponsorship to charity.

The Owls' partnership with The Children's Hospital in Sheffield was recognised in Parliament earlier this week.

Football League director of external affairs Gavin Megaw said: "It's good to see the work of our clubs being recognised in Parliament.

"Communities are the lifeblood of Football League clubs and this is yet another great example of a club working hard locally to make a difference in their locality."

The Owls announced their partnership with The Children's Hospital in Sheffield in February when they donated their shirt sponsorship to the hospital.

Since July more than 10,000 replica shirts bearing The Children's Hospital logo have been sold with £1 from each shirt being donated to the hospital's charity.
