Cardiff City Stadium will be debt-free 12 months from now, according to club chairman Peter Ridsdale.
The new state-of-the-art stadium cost £52million from start to finish - 70% of which is understood to have been funded by the council and 30% by property developers PMG.
Ridsdale is optimistic the money owed to PMG will be repaid by this time next year.
He told the South Wales Echo: "I am confident the stadium will be debt-free in 12 months by paying the money we borrowed off PMG.
"The funding for that fee will be done through normal financial institutions and nothing to do with any new potential investment. The stadium debt is a totally separate debt to Langston."
The Welsh club currently owe £24m to Langston, something which is in the hands of lawyers from both sides. Ridsdale is also still in talks with Malaysian businessman Dato Chan Tien Ghee regarding possible investment.
