Rene Steer is desperate to make an impact at Oldham this season.
The young left-back joinded the club after failing to secure a new contract with Arsenal.
His Lactics career stalled when he fractured his jaw in pre-season training but is now hoping to secure a first-team slot.
Steer said: "Joining Oldham is a fantastic opportunity for me, they are a club known for producing young talent - players like Chris Taylor and Neil Eardley - and this season I'm aiming for a run in the first team more than anything else.
"My pace and attacking, overlapping, play is definitely my best attribute. I know that given the chance I can offer something to the team.
"I just wish that I could offer more in the way of goals - but I know that's a weakness of my game and I'm constantly working to get better."
