UEFA Cup - UEFA Cup preview

Eurosport - Thu, 29 Nov 19:44:00 2007

Yawn! Even Juande Ramos thinks the UEFA Cup group stage is boring. His Tottenham side, Bolton and Aberdeen are all in action this evening.

FOOTBALL 2007-2008 Premier League Tottenham Hotspur Juande Ramos - 0

Tottenham v Aalborg - 7.45pm UK time

Ramos will be without the injured Younes Kaboul and Jermain Defoe, although based on their weekend performances neither would be counting on inclusion if fit.

Kaboul had a shocker against West Ham, while Defoe missed a stoppage-time penalty that would have won the game.

Defeat to Getafe in Martin Jol's final game in charge has left Spurs in a precarious position - they need a win against their Danish opponents to get back on track.

Bolton v Aris - 8pm

Gary Megson's side come into the game on a high after beating Manchester United at the weekend and earning a point against Bayern Munich in their last UEFA Cup game.

The manager will name a strong side as the Trotters look to improve on their record of two draws, with Nicolas Anelka likely to start up front.

Swedish winger Christian Wilhelmsson gets a chance to shine, while first-teamers such as Jussi Jaaskelainen and Kevin Nolan also play.

Atletico Madrid v Aberdeen - 7.45pm

Aberdeen face one of the strongest sides in the competition at the Vicente Calderon, and will come up against the likes of Diego Forlan and Simao Sabrosa.

The Dons have just one point from their two games so far, but are only a point adrift from second place in the group with Panathinaikos the runaway leaders.
