Sir Rodney Walker has been re-elected as chairman of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association.
Following the governing body's annual general meeting in Sheffield, Walker was voted back in despite having been required to retire by rotation before being backed by the sport's voting players.
Fellow board members Sir David Richards, Dr Hamish McInnes, Peter Ebdon and Lee Doyle had also been required to retire but were re-elected.
Earlier this season, Walker controversially hinted that he might be willing to move the World Snooker Championships for Sheffield to China after 2010.
