Exeter manager Paul Tisdale was gracious in defeat after his side let slip a two-goal lead to crash out of the FA Cup in a seven-goal thriller at MK Dons.
Barry Corr's brace and substitute Adam Stansfield's cool finish had put the Grecians 3-1 up after Sam Baldock's first-half opener for the Dons.
But Paul Ince's men scored three goals in the last 20 minutes, through Baldock and substitutes Martin Devaney and Easter, to book a place in the third round for the first time in four years.
Tisdale, who saw his side's six-match unbeaten run come to an end, said: "It was a terrific game and a great cup tie. It's just unfortunate that we've ended up on the losing side.
"You're never safe with a two-goal lead, especially when the team losing is at home. I was delighted to be 3-1 up, but the Dons were terrific, they are the best football team we have played this season.
"It was very cruel, but they took the game up a level and scored three goals. I can't really fault the players, they feel as hurt as anyone."
